Gracelyn Abel is a graduate student in the Sustainable Food Systems M.S. program at Montana State University, where she also earned her Bachelors of Science in Sustainable Food and Bioenergy Systems in 2023. After Graduation, she spent over two years gaining hands-on experience in the field of Environmental Health, earning her Registered Sanitarian (R.S.) license while working as an Environmental Health Specialist in one of Montana’s fastest-growing counties.

Her previous research focused on the intersection of sustainable agriculture and waste management. As an undergraduate research assistant, she contributed to several applied research projects, including the development of a quick-start guide for anaerobic digesters tailored to small farmers, a three-part educational video series introducing anaerobic technology to small farmers, and did various data collection for a study examining nutrient content in household compostable waste as feedstock for anaerobic digesters.
